French Art Nouveau Unheated Sapphire & Diamond Ring, circa 1900

£7,950.00

An exceptional French Art Nouveau ring dating to circa 1900, crafted in richly coloured 18k yellow gold with beautifully sculpted flowers, leaves and flowing foliate decoration.

At its centre sits a cushion-cut natural blue sapphire weighing approximately 1.80ct, independently confirmed as unheated and untreated. The sapphire is flanked by two characterful old-cut diamonds totalling approximately 1.00ct, their broad facets and softly irregular outlines perfectly complementing the ring’s antique construction.

Substantial in both appearance and weight, the ring has a wonderfully tactile, almost sculptural quality. The gemstones appear embraced by the surrounding goldwork rather than simply set within it—an unmistakably Art Nouveau celebration of nature, movement and craftsmanship.
